Day One's Top Performances at the Sunshine Showcase


The girls' 4x400m relay delivered one of the tightest finishes of the day with the IMG girls edging out Dillard with a 3:48.51, a FL No. 2 and FL No. 4 all-time, while Dillard's 3:48.98 was good for FL No. 3 and FL No. 5 all-time.

Day one of the Sunshine Showcase in Gainesville absolutely delivered, setting the tone for a notably fast weekend. The opening day produced four new Florida No. 1 marks and an eye-popping five all-time Florida Top 5 indoor performances. 

The girls' 60-meter hurdles featured one of the day's tightest races as Alondra Rodriguez (TNT Track Club) powered to an 8.82, moving her to FL No. 2 in the 60mH. She was pushed by Ava Fanchi (813 Elite Track & Field), whose 8.99 clocking ranks FL No. 5.

On the boys' side, Kobe Johnson (Dunbar) took control of the 60mH, clocking a 7.88 to establish himself as the new Florida No. 1.

The boys' 60m featured a breakout win from Rhoan Kaulder (IMG Ascender Elite), who stormed to a 6.76, claiming the Florida No. 1 spot. Davion Crumitie (Rickards) followed with a 6.80, tying for FL No. 2.

On the girls' side, Dasia Reed (Montverde Academy) captured the 60m title in 7.55, FL No. 1. She was closely followed by Diamond Bryant (E.O.T.O. Elite) at 7.57 (FL No. 2) and Laiana McClinton (RAVE SPEED) at 7.59, which ranks FL No. 5.

Dillard dominated the boys 4x200m relay, running a 1:28.57, FL No. 4 all-time. Centennial followed closely behind,  running No. 6 all-time in Florida.

The girls' 4x200m relays saw another strong showing from Dillard, as the girls ran a 1:41.17, a current FL No. 2 and an all-time No. 9.

In the boys' 4x400m relay, IMG Ascender Elite claimed victory, clocking 3:19.71, blasting their current Florida No. 1 time of 3:27.06, and joining other IMG teams with a Florida No. 4 all-time.
