Middle School State Meet Updates

It is really awesome to hear from you all and know how the excitement is building for the state meet with you and your kids!  We have seen this build every year and are proud to have created this outlet and culmination point for these kids.  We have updated the Middle School Championship meet page and also have a few anouncements and clarifications that have been asked a lot.

Official Meet Logo

I have designed the official meet logo (right) that will be going on the t-shirts, awards, and publications around the state meet.  I'm certainly no graphic artist, but I hope you like it alright!

Qualification

Every time I think that I have explained it enough and clear enough, I keep getting questions about how to qualify for the state meet.  Please know that I will make NO EXCEPTIONS to the below.  We have created enough different ways to qualify for the state meet that I am content saying no!  The only thing I feel bad about is the Tampa meet being cancelled. :-(  Just don't know what to do about that one.  So here is the ONLY ways you can qualify.....

  1. Auto-Qualifying Standards at a Designated Meet:  The standards and list of qualifying meets are listed on the state meet page.  If it's not listed there then it does not count.  Here are a list of the qualifying standards.
  2. First Place at a "Regional Championship":  In addition to hitting the auto-qualifying marks we have certain designated middle school regional championship meets.  Regardless of time, the winner of each event at these meets will be elligible to compete at the state meet.  These meets are:  South Region in Ft. Lauderdale, East Region in Melbourne, North Region in Jacksonville, and Panhandle Region in Ft. Walton Beach.  Our West Region in St. Petersburg was unfortunately cancelled and we have held Southwest and Central Florida regions in the past but no one volunteered to host these meets.
  3. FHSAA Meets:  We understand that some athletes compete for their high schools and can't go to the qualifying meets, so if you hit an auto-qualifying mark at your high school district, region, or state meet that will count as well.
  4. County Championships:  We have added many county championships to the list of qualifying meets... if your county championship meet is FAT timed and they send us the results in Hytek or RaceTab format then we will recognize it as a qualifier.

Those are the only four ways!  No exceptions.  For future reference, we are very open to adding new qualifying meets.  So if you host a meet or would like to do so... get with us next year.  If it is timed FAT for sprint events, has qualified meet officials, results in Hytek or RaceTab, and is just in general a quality meet then we will gladly recognize it as a qualifier.

Yes, I will be hand checking each entry to the state meet.  So only enter if you qualify!

State Meet Info

I posted a lot of information today.  I will link it here for your convinience...

How to get to the track at Holy Trinity Academy in Melbourne - Google Maps

We have two designated host hotels, please stay at one of those.  Hotel Information

We will have the coaches meeting at 8:30AM, field events start at 9AM and running events at 10AM.  We hope to be done by 2 or 3.  We run a different order of events than high school, so check out this page: Schedule and Order of Events

How to Enter

Here are the steps if you don't already know...

COACHES...  (entering your whole team or even just one athlete)

  1. Login to flrunners.com
  2. If you haven't already, go to your team's page and click the "Claim This Team" button and follow the steps.  The request will be submitted to us.  Usually within a few hours we'll have it approved and you'll get an email saying so.
  3. Once approved, go back to your team page and click on the Team Administrator button in the top right.  Then click on the Roster link.  Update your roster, making any corrections and adding any new athletes.  If we've received meet results from meets you've competed in this year then your roster may already be 100% complete.
  4. Now go to the state meet page and click the Enter Online Now button.  Just fill out the form and follow the instructions from there to enter your team and your athletes into events.  Should be self-explainatory for the most part.
