10 Florida Track Athletes Already Making Noise In 2026

Antunez-Perez delivered one of the most impressive distance performances of the week at The Bolles Bulldog Classic, running 10:31.00 in the 3200 meters. The junior improved dramatically from 11:02.49 and now ranks No. 1 in Florida and No. 1 among juniors, and current U.S. No. 2.
Robinson made an early statement in the 1600m after finishing fifth last spring in the 4A state finals with a 4:59.11. The senior ran a 4:50.23 in the 1600m at the 2026 Larry Richardson Memorial Invitational, eclipsing her previous PR by over eight seconds and moving her into the No. 1 position in the Florida girls 1600m rankings. Her time also brought her into the national spotlight, putting her at the top of the national 1600m girl rankings.
Anderson had a huge day in the throws at the Tarpon Classic, launching the shot put 13.49 (44-3). The junior improved from 41-10.36, won the event, and now ranks #4 in Florida and #1 among juniors.
Palmer cleared 1.73m (5-8) at the George Janan Invitational, improving on her previous best of 5-6.25. The senior won the event and now ranks #1 in Florida, putting her among the state's top high jumpers early this season. Tied for U.S. No. 9.
Morgan produced a standout throw of 45.62m (149-8.00) in the discus at The Ellis Elite 16 Invitational. The senior improved from 145-3 and won the competition, now ranking #2 in Florida and No. 10 nationally.
Sutton continues to establish herself as one of the top hurdlers in the state. At The Ellis Elite 16 Invitational, the junior ran 14.05 in the 100-meter hurdles, improving from 14.60. She placed second and now ranks #3 in Florida and #1 among juniors.
Higgins also delivered a strong hurdles performance, clocking 14.06 at the Kiwanis Ed Wells Invitational. The junior improved from 14.24, won the event, and now ranks #4 in Florida and #2 among juniors, just behind Alexis Sutton.
Jones soared to a mark of 12.02m (39-05.00) at the Blue Devil Invitational, improving from 37-4 earlier this season. She won the competition and now ranks #3 in Florida, signaling a strong start to her outdoor campaign.
Spears continued her steady progression in the vault, clearing 3.55m (11-7.75) at the South Walton Hawks Classic. The senior improved from 11-3.75, won the event, and currently ranks #9 in Florida.
Popescu ran a strong 2:17.57 in the 800 meters at The Bolles Bulldog Classic, shaving seven seconds off her previous best of 2:24.93. The senior placed second and now ranks #23 in Florida.
