Jesuit Tampa Track and Cross Country runner, Zach Scott, signed his National Letter of Intent to compete for the University of Tampa. Scott finished 18th in the Class 2A State Cross Country Finals Nov 2010 while helping his Tiger team to a third place team finish and was named to the FACA Florida Cross Country All-State 3rd Team. A recognized workhorse and steady performer, Scott has provided quiet leadership by example over four years of Varsity Track and two years of Varsity Cross Country for Jesuit.
Asked about his choice of the University of Tampa, Zach said “It really came down to three things. First, the quality of the Athletic Training program at University of Tampa is superb. Second, the opportunity to run for two of Florida’s best distance coaches Jerry Slaven and Dror Vaknin. Third, Zach hopes give back to both the athletic training program and the running teams at Jesuit while enrolled at the University of Tampa.”
Commenting about the upcoming Track season, Scott said, “with the pressure of making my commitment decision behind me, I can now relax and focus on helping the team win another District championship and get as many of our great athletes to the State Meet as possible”.
