.

Every event is noteworthy, but here are a few that you should keep an eye on.

Boys 400m

Of course, we'll start at the top of the list.  Scheduled to run in the 400m is junior Quincy Wilson of Bullis. This will be Wilson's outdoor opener, coming off of his spectacular indoor season. The gold medal Olympian in the 4x400m Relay at the Paris Olympics ran an indoor PR of 45.66 at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in February, improving his high school national record and his under-18 world best. Last summer, prior to the Olympics, he ran a 44.20 under-18 world best outdoors at the PUMA American Track League's Holloway Pro Classic.  He won last year's 400m at the Florida relays in a 45.19.

Wilson will have some company in the 400m. Joining him will be some of Florida's top 400m runners. Tywan Cox of Miami Northwestern and Jean-Pierre Giovani of Centennial, the Florida #1 and 2 ranked 400m runners, are scheduled to run, along with Jozef Miesak of Windermere. Cox has run 46.52 this outdoor season; Giovani has run 47.11, and Miesak 47.85.

Girls 400m

The girls' 400m features Florida numbers 1, 2, and 3. Senior Tyra Cox of Miami Northwestern heads the list with a 52.97, a current US #3. Sophomore Journee Belcher of Rickards HS is Florida's #2 and the US's #7, with a 53.83. The number three ranked girl in Florida is Montverde Academy junior Nakira Hudson. Hudson has run 54.05.

Girls 100mH

Watch for seniors Aleesa Samuel of Flanagan and Alexia Reid of Dillard to go head to head. The girls are currently ranked US #5 and #7 respectively, with times of 13.43 and 13.58. Also, keep an eye out for Florida #4, senior Kahalia Hoo of Miami Northwestern and junior Sydney Harris of IMG to challenge Samuel and Reid. These are the other two girls in the state that have run sub-14.00.  Anything can happen in the hurdles, and this should be a good race.

Boys 110mH

This one should be a good one and close.  It's a race among the top hurdlers in the state to see who can claim the bragging rights in a head-to-head competition. Florida numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 are all scheduled to run, led by senior Jabari Armstrong of Sickles. Senior Kahiem Carby of Plant City joins Armstrong as the only two who have gone under 14:00 this season with senior Presten Augustin of Dwyer running a 14.00.

Boys 100m

Seventeen of Florida's currently top-20 ranked boys are scheduled to run, including Christopher Bronaugh of Windermere. This should be a fun won to watch.

Boys 800m

Alejandro de Bastos of Pembroke Pines Charter headlines the boys' 800m.  de Bastos is on the verge of going sub-1:50 with a Florida #2 ranking of 1:50.92.  The senior may be challenged by three others that are under 1:55, including seniors Zack Gunderson (1:53.70) of Holy Trinity Academy, Daniel Reyes (1:54.35) of Spanish River, and Lucas Coan (1:54.41) of Montverde.

Boys 4x100m Relay

Creekside comes in with a national leading 40.09, but they will be challenged by American Heritage (Plantation), Archbishop Carroll (DC), and Bullis.  Carroll and Bullis will be opening up their outdoor campaigns.  Anything can happen in the 4x100.  Not
always the fastest wins, but the team that executes it exchanges the best. And of course, speed is always essential.

Girls 1600m

Scheduled to run are some of the best girls in the state. Mackenzie Roy of Spruce Creek, Annabella Tomasic of Lake Highland Prep, Arianna Roy of Spruce Creek, Jazlyn Forbes of Oasis, Eliana Black of Cambridge (Christian) School, Daniela Hernandez of the Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, Ava Heskett of Gulf CoastAvery Chatman of East Lake, Shynah Collins of Dillard, Cheyenne Thomas of Tavares, Masha Dorofeev of Fort Myers, and Grace Aldrich of the Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart. Those are the ones in the current Top 20 of the state rankings.  You can also add Alyson Johnson of Creekside, who has only run a limited amount this outdoor season, but who held the number one ranking last year with a 4:46.24 and is the defending 4A state champion. It should be a great race with six girls who have run sub-5:00 this season.

Boys 1600m

Seven of the top 15 boys in the state are set to run in the 1600.  All seven have run sub 4:20 this season.  It should be an interesting race with all seven boys separated by just 3.89 seconds. It may come down to the last 100.  If it's a strategic race and the pace is slow,, Joshua Gammage of Dillard has 1:54 speed. If it's fast, it will be interesting to see who presses the pace and who goes with them from 600m out.  It an experienced field, so it should be a fun one to watch.

Girls 4x400m Relay

This is the warm-up for the boys' 4x400. The Bullis girls won the NBNI with a 3:35.54!

Boys 4x400m Relay

This is a must-watch race. Outdoors this season, Miami Northwestern has run a US #3 3:12.28 and Mallard Creek (NC) has run a #4 3:12.72. However, and it's a big however, at the recent NBNI, Bullis won with a 3:09.44 with Archbishop Carroll (DC) sixth in 3:15.41.

Girls 4x800m Relay

Dillard holds down the US #4 spot with a 9:13.68. They can run faster. Watch for the girls from Creekside to challenge Dillard.

Boy's Discus

Watch for the number one and two boys in the state to go head-to-head. Jason Atwood of Chiles and Tim Beauchamp of New Smyrna Beach have both held the number one spot nationally and are currently ranked number one and three. She is the defending Florida Relays champion and is a 2X 4A State champion in the pole vault. She won last year with a vault of 3.97m and has a vault of 4.01(13-1.75) earlier this year indoors in winning the Florida High School Indoor Championships.
