Bob Hayes Invitational Track and Field Meet

Bob Hayes Classic Lives Up to Legacy of Bullet Bob

"Bullet Bob" Hayes was a trackster turned footballer who was reknowned for his incredible speed. In keeping with his legacy, the Jacksonville meet named in his honor was the fastest collection of sprinters we've seen this year. THREE runners (Dedric Dukes, Hugh Graham Jr, and Arman Hall) all bolted into 46.6 range in a photo finish with less than a tenth separating them. For an encore Hall and Dukes did it again in the 200 with Hall again pulling it out 20.87 to 20.88. It's going to be a hot season for Florida sprinters folks!

George Steinbrenner: Because Jacksonville Can't Have All the Fun

With all of the fast times going on up there in Jacksonville at the Bob Hayes Classic, let's not forget the excellent goings-on in Tampa. At the George Steinbreener Invitational, with over 2000 athletes entered, there were some great performances. The to best of the day were Tynia Gaither who bettered Octavious Freeman for the new US #1 200 time of 23.17 (to go with a 11.5 100) and Robin Reynolds of Miami Jackson with a US #1 54.21 in the 400.
