College Signings

 

Kelli Williams – Mitchell High School – University of South Florida

Mitchell senior Kelli Williams has decided to stay close to home for college. The distance specialist will run cross country and track and field for the University of South Florida. Her personal bests include 18:42 in the 5k, 5:03 in the 1600, and 2:18 in the 800. “I chose USF because I really like the coaches, they have a strong team, the facilities were awesome, and their nursing program has always interested me as well.”

Kalen Hambrick – Tavares High School – Univerisity of Central Florida

Kalen Hambrick of Tavares will join the UCF track and field team as a thrower. Hambrick set the school record in the discus with a personal best 142-2. She also has a personal best of 34-8.75 in the shot put which she threw early in 2011.

Shadaey Campbell – Olympia High School – Jacksonville University.

Olympia sprinter Shadaey Campbell will take the drive up I-95 to Jacksonville to compete for A-Sun conference champions.  Campbell’s personal bests include 11.91 in the 100, 24.78 in the 200, and 57.49 in the 400. She is the third signee for the Dolphins in 2011 and the only one from the Sunshine State.

Amelia Williams – The Bolles School – University of Central Florida

Amelia Williams of Bolles will run both track and cross country for the Knights.  She placed 8th last season at the 2A state cross country meet. Her personal bests include 2:17.30 in the 800 5:27.39 in the 1600, and 11:59.38 in the 3200.

Erica Jenkins – Wolfson High School – Bethune Cookman University

Wolfson hurdler Erica Jenkins will stay in state and compete in the hurdles for Bethune Cookman University. Jenkins has clocked personal bests of 14.58 in the 100 meter hurdles and 43.32 in the 300 hurdles.

Jasmine Ferguson  - Pensacola Catholic High School – University of South Alabama

Jasmine Ferguson of Pensacola Catholic has signed with the University of South Alabama. Ferguson’s high jump of 5-4 at the 2A state meet last was good enough for a third place finish.
