2A Regional Break Down

2A Region 1

With Episcopal putting on the breaks at Regionals and just cruising to a qualifying spot in the region, that left Bishop Kenny with a Regional Championship. Nonetheless, They did have competition. Pensacola Catholic, with the home course advantage, put on an impressive show. After lying dormant through out the season they really put on the pressure, running impressive times on a slow course. My guess is 1 minute 20 seconds slow. Nonetheless, Bishop Kenny ran strong scoring only 57 points. 11 more than districts, quite the accomplishment with the higher quality teams. However, Don't count out Episcopal. They are running extremely strong right now and could, on any given day, take down the traditional powerhouse.

I expect to see these two teams, Bishop Kenny and Episcopal gunning for Hernando Saturday.

Teams to look for from 2A region 1

Episcopal
Bishop Kenny
Pensacola Catholic
The Bolles School

Individuals to look for from 2A region 1

Luke Russell
Paul Jorgenson
Kenny Whitman

2A Region 2

Hernando not as quick as usual, however…they still got the "W" and qualify for state without any real pressure. The big story of the race is Phillip Moeller, Bishop Moore, beating Benjamin Martucci, Hernando. While I am uncertain of the racing situation or tactics that came into play, my guess is that the Martucci brothers worked together for some of the race before splitting off. However, I could be completely wrong. Nonetheless, a very good race for Moeller! With Hernando having a strong front running duo in the Martucci brothers, and with Bess having a somewhat off race, this team still managed to average 17:22. Hernando is definitely the favorite for the number 2 spot on the podium.

Teams to look for from 2A region 2

Hernando
Bishop Moore

Individuals to look for from 2A region 2

Phillip Moeller
Ben Martucci
Drew Martucci

2A region 3

Tampa Jesuit scored an impressive 24 points over the field in their region. This team looks ready to take another state championship! While the race was dominated by Tampa Jesuit, the real race took place directly behind them. After 5000 meters only one point separated Naples and Immokalee from the runner up position in 2A region 3. There is definatly a pattern forming, Close races! At districts we saw ties and races separated by a matter of just a few points. At regionals we see the same thing! The battle for the top 9 spots, behind Tampa Jesuit of course, will be a race to remember. With but a few points separating most all teams going into state, ANYTHING, can happen!

Teams to look for from 2A region 3

Tampa Jesuit
Immokalee
Naples

Individual to look for from 2A region 3

James Osborne
Connor Revord

2A Region 4

Belen Jesuit is yet again proving their late season dominance in the sport. Defeating Lincoln Park Academy by 9 points and having a great race all around from their 1-7, these guys are primed and ready to chase after a top 3 spot on Saturday. Lincoln Park is still seriously lacking a 5th man. With out a number 5 this team will be hard pressed to maintain a top 5 spot on Saturday. Gulliver has a strong 1-2 but will need to have 3,4,5 step it up to hop in the top 5 on Saturday.

Team to look for from 2A region 4

Belen Jesuit
Lincoln Park Academy
Gulliver Prep

Individuals to look for from 2A region 4

Matt Hensley
Guillermo Echarte
Phillip Woerner

2A PRE-STATE RANKINGS TEAMS

1. TAMPA JESUIT
Hands down, 2A STATE CHAMPIONS ON NOVEMBER 12. It's theirs to lose
2. HERNANDO
Having run extremely well in the past few weeks, this team, on paper, is the team to beat. They have the home course advantage on Saturday and will have their sights set on maintaining their position. Nonetheless, Their position is anything but secure. They will be hard pressed and the battle for the last spot on the podium starts with this team, will it end with them as well?
3. EPISCOPAL
3. BISHOP KENNY
These two teams duked it out at districts with Bishop Kenny getting the win on the 6th man. At Regionals Episcopal cruised to a qualifying spot, while Kenny took the race out hard. Kenny seems to be a little spread out, while Episcopal races in tight groups of two. These two teams are expected to battle it out and be chasing down Hernando in the homestretch.
5. BELEN JESUIT
Showing why they are one of the best teams year in and year out. This team always has a habit of throwing down at the end of the season. With a decisive win over LPA in their region. Belen looks like they will be holding the number 5 position on Saturday. However, they could surprise me and every individual could PR by 30seconds at state, AGAIN, remember '04.
6. LINCOLN PARK ACADEMY
Still Greatly lacking a 5th man. This team has a strong 1-2 with a good 3-4. Nonetheless, their number 5 destroys the attempt at a low score. Have been struggling at 5 all season, should he decide to step it up, then LPA could be a threat.
7. GULLIVER PREP
This team is still young and will be returning everyone next year. However, look for them to be chasing after LPA. While they were a bit behind them at regionals, with the addition of 3 more regions, the point total could sway in their direction
8. NAPLES
I give the nod to Naples even though Immokalee got them at regionals by a point. They have the big classification mentality and are surely chasing after their early season ranking.
9. IMMOKALEE
I could be wrong, but this team is still very capable of a top 8 finish. Having defeated Naples this past week. They could do it again! Nonetheless it will be a fight!
10. BISHOP MOORE
10. PENSACOLA CATHOLIC
10. THE BOLLES SCHOOL
While The Bolles School was more than just a few points behind Pensacola Catholic at regionals. I fore see them having a very close race with PC. PC had the home course advantage and a greater understanding of the course at regionals. Bolles will have the flat green grass of little everglades to help them pursue their top 10 spot!

When it comes down to it, Bishop Moore has the slight edge over both of these teams. With their front running number one they score very few point, however, their number's 3,4,5 could be very deadly to them. I expect to see all three of these teams to be chasing after Naples and Immokalee for top 10 spots.

INDIVIDUALS

1. James Osborne (Tampa Jesuit)
Totally Dominant all season, his only loss was to Justin Harbor at Flrunners.
2. Luke Russell (Bishop Kenny)
While having a good race pre-state. Russell was defeated with ease by Osborne at a two mile postal.
3. Matt Hensley (Lincoln Park Academy)
Mr. Consistency! This kid has been running consistently quick all season long! Look for him to challenge for the lead.
4. Ben Martucci (Hernando)
Seems as though he has been a team player the past few weeks. Look for him to let loose at state.
5. Guillermo Echarte (Belen Jesuit)
This sophmore is gutsy! His freshman year was fantastic, look for his sophmore cross country season to end with an enormous BANG!
6. Phillip Woerner (Gulliver Prep)
Has been chasing Echarte all season long, can he change the order?
7. Phillip Moeller (Bishop Moore)
With an individual regional Championship under his belt, this kid is carrying a good bit of momentum into the state meet.
8. Conner Revord (Tampa Jesuit)
This Frosh is on fire, he's gutsy and determined! I'm sure he will put himself into position to challenge for a top 5 spot!
9. Paul Jorgenson (Episcopal)
Mr. Inconsistent. Nonetheless, Some very good performances in the past two weeks. Look for this kid to get out quick and hang on to the leaders for as long as he can. Been running well, and is looking to lead his team onto the podium.
10. Drew Martucci (Hernando)
Will need to position himself infront of Mr. Jorgenson to try and solidify his team's current ranking.
10. Phillip Scrivner (Tampa Jesuit)
Tampa's number three with a mid 16minute PR, this kid is clutch and will come through when it counts.
10. Jacob Bess (Hernando)
Put down some fast times in the past few weeks, will need to maintain position if Hernando is to maintain position.
10. Kenny Whitman (Pine Forrest)
This kid is my dark horse. He looked extremely strong on the region 1 course. With someone to hang onto for the entire race, this kid could bust into the top 10.

TEAMS

Top 5

Boone
Columbus
FPC
Lyman
Buchholz

Based on the regional meets, I can't tell who is going to win this one!!
In fact, at the beginning of the year I picked Lyman, Boone, Columbus, and FPC to
be vying for the top spot, and that is still the case. Joining them however is Buchholz!
A close look shows you that Buchholz has the most to gain in a one week improvement/adjustment
time period. Boone looks good. If they falter at all, they'll get beat. Columbus looks good,
and has room for improvement from Catanach is particular. FPC is almost a favorite with their top 2,
but Duffy or Rivera (near 17 flat a year ago!) must close the gap at 5. Lyman has the best #6 in the
field, and a pack that, if they work together, may pull it off. Buchholz had a couple guys tank a bit
at region, and have beaten all of the 4A schools this year at least once. They should not be counted out.

6. Colonial
Has gone the wrong way late in the season, but is talented enough to upset anyone ahead of them that falters.

A close group follows in 7-9

Ferguson
Has been consistent all year.Led by sophomore Manco

Timber Creek
Huge runs by Corlew and Votipka got them here. How they respond to their first time will be crucial.

Miami Central
A bit under the radar, but these guys always have athletes that can compete in ANY sport.

#10 - #14

Sickles
Riverview
Douglas
Cypress Bay
St. Pete

A lot of people will bust my chops about a region winner being way down at 10, but I think that's how it plays out. Sickles is good, and led by 2 freshman. Riverview is led by All-State hopeful Deveau, but lacks a midlevel (sub 17) #2 guy. Douglas is out of region 3, I'm not real familiar with them, I know Cypress Bay. They have the potential to move the most (up) from their regional performance which I thought was below par for this solid team. Hurricanes etc. should be kept in mind when discussing most R3 and R4 teams though.

#15-#17

Durant
Taravella
Melbourne

A group of squads that will probably average around 17:40-17:50 at Little Everglades.

#18-#23

Cooper City
Varella
Palmetto
Killian
Sarasota
Wellington

All of these squads should target being sub 18:05 as a top 5. They could finish in any similar order to what's listed.

24. Boyd Anderson

Based solely on region results. The Cobras have won state titles in the past, not this year.

INDIVIDUALS

**** Based solely on region meets****

1. Justin Harbor FPC Region 1 champ

2. Aaron Kindt Boone Region 1 runner-up

3. Anthony Morales FPC Region 1 3rd

4. Bobby Saltsman Lyman Region 1 4th

5. Jason Tyrell Varella region 4 champ

6. Vince Corlew TC region 1 5th

7. Alex Wills Colonial Region 1 6th

8. Andy Winner Boone Region 1 7th

9. AJ Walker WS Region 1 8th

10. Zach Deveau Riverview region 2 champ

11. Spencer Brice Palm Bay Region 2 runner up

12. Brian Waldrip Bartram Trail Region 1 9th

13. Jesus Batista Killian Region 4 3rd

14. Kellam Bartley Buchholz Region 1 10th

15. Andres Davilla Columbus Region 4 4th

These are just my opinion with approximate course conversions, and a touch of the importance of team finish added. Good Luck to all that qualified.

1A GIRLS PRESTATE RANKINGS

By: Gary Droze - GDroze@maclay.org

I'm assuming that Region 1 and 2 courses were "average,"
Region 3 was "fast," and Region 4 was "not so fast." But what
do I know?
Holy Trinity continues their wire-to-wire lead, with a record of
never having a team race average time LESS than 30 seconds faster than
the next best team each week.

TOP TEN TEAMS

1. Holy Trinity Academy. Came off a short week (racing Monday) to
dominate the Region 2 meet with 39 points and a 19:53 team average.
Props to Coach Butler for hosting two meets in six days…hope you catch
up on sleep this week!

2. Maclay. Exploited "home course" advantage at Region 1, using
their familiarity with the Miccosukee Greenway venue to slide past
out-of-towners for first; holding steady with last Saturday's team
average of 20:23 (20:21 last week).

3. Shorecrest Prep. Team frontrunner Sarah Evans has an off day
(lingering cold), yet they still average 20:31 for 32 points in Region 3
win. They earn a promotion.

4. Oak Hall. Still challenged by PK Yonge, but got nine points clear
this week to take second at Region 1 (21:19 average). That gives them a
little breathing room after the district tiebreaker.

5. PK Yonge. 21:36 average behind Oak Hall at Region 1. Six of their
top seven are in middle school. The rest of 1A may not like to hear
this, but we may have another "Holy Trinity" in this division by
next year!

6. Berkley Prep. Scored 67 for second behind Shorecrest in Region
three, with a team average of 21:14. Pretty tight pack should help them
this weekend.

7. Trinity Prep. A respectable 21:29 average for second in Region 2.
The #5 at 22:30 is what keeps them this high in the rankings.

8. Canterbury. 99 points for third in arguably the most competitive
region (four teams from Region 3 earned Top Ten rankings). Team
average: 21:38. If I didn't have my own squad to watch this Saturday,
I'd be up in the grandstands, enjoying the final duel between these
femmes and…

9. St John Neuman. Just 9 points behind Canterbury in Region 3, with
actually a slightly faster girl at #5 (23:03 vs. 23:14). Toss a coin at
Little Everglades!

10. TIE: Aucilla Christian and Indian Rocks Christian. Can the 4th
place team out of Region 1 (22:25 average on a fair course) beat the 5th
place team out of Region 3 (21:54 average on a fast course)? I got a
headache trying to figure this one out!

2A GIRLS PRESTATE RANKINGS

By: Tyrone Gayle - tgayle@hotmail.com

This is what everyone has been waiting for, the state meet. The following predictions are based on the season as a whole, as well as who has gotten hot as of late. Just because one team beat another at so and so meet does not mean that much. This preview is long, but definitely worth the read. After Episcopal, it gets pretty crowded, but let's just say it's going to be a backyard brawl for the runner up spot.. On any given Saturday, ANYTHING can happen. Good luck to all teams/individuals competing.

TEAMS
() =Last year's state meet finish

1.Episcopal (2nd in 1A)
--Ok, can we start the "best FL team ever conversation yet?" From start to finish, Episcopal has led the way as the best team in Florida with dominating wins, and an impressive showing on the national stage. After they receive their invitation, they will compete at Nike Team Nations in Portland, Oregon. But first, they will try to break the state record for fewest points scored (21pts… done in 95' and 84'). With a 28 sec spread between their 1-5, will anybody break apart their possible 2-6 finish? We shall see.
Season BEST avg.: 18:52

2T: Bolles (1st)/BK (3rd)
--These two neighborhood rivals/powerhouses have been back and forth all season. They have split four head-to-head battles in which they have been separated by 44 points combined. In the end, it will simply come down to that wants it the most. Flip a coin, and pick a winner because each team has a 50/50 shot at that coveted runner-up spot. Each team has a solid front runner, and roughly a 30 second spread between their 2-5's. Coach Kuhn (BK) and Coach Ryan (Bolles) are two of the best, and this will no doubt be a battle to the finish line and come down to the number 5 runner.
Bolles BEST avg: 20:05 BK BEST avg: 20:10

4. PJP (2nd)
--PJP has the 2nd best trio in the state (Mascaro, Redfearn, Robinson), but unfortunately the gap between their 3 and 4/5 is devastating (35+ seconds). In big fields, strong front-runners provide a distinct advantage, which is why PJP gets the nod over Astronaut. However, if Burie/Chong have their long overdue breakout races, and return to their 04' forms then they PJP will be back in business. The eagles tends to save their best for last (see 2003), so do not be surprised to see those mustard yellow jerseys back on the podium if they can get past the Bolles/BK blockade. Also, they had a strong showing @ Flrunners on the state meet course, so that bodes well for them.
Season BEST avg: 20:32

5. Astronaut (DNQ)
--Astronaut is by far one of the best comeback teams and stories of the year. This marks the first time the team qualified for state since 2000. This is a young group dominated by freshmen, and led by the strong front running of sophomore Devin Spoerle. Came out of the gate strong @ the UF Invite, did not do anything special during the middle stretch, but have really turned it on during the post-season (District 4 champs). Spoerle and Thompson have been the most consistent, but if their young guns have those magical "30 second state PR's" that so often happen, then the lady eagles will be in the mix as well.
Season BEST avg: 20:17

6. Naples (10th in 3A)
--Another team that flew out from the start at the UF Invite, but seemed to fade as the season progressed. If the 2nd half of their season is an indicator of what's to come, then be ready. A win over PJP @ the Disney classic,
Season BEST avg.: 20:53

7. Bishop Moore (7th)
--Bishop Moore had been pretty dormant most of the season till districts, then regionals when they came out with the win over Astronaut and Lake Highland. All signs point to they are peaking at the RIGHT time. As we all know, it's not how you start it's how you finish. Rodriguez and Lugo run the show, but the rest of the cast is not too shabby either.
Season BEST avg.: 20:33

8. Lake Highland Prep (5th in 1A)
--8th may be a little low for them as anything can happen, but this is where they stand as of now. J. Prendergast has led them from the get-go. They can match the depth of B. Moore and Naples through their top 4, but it falls off dramatically after that. Can they find a number 5 from somewhere? Anywhere? The jump from 1A to 2A may be smoother then expected, stay tuned.
Season BEST avg: 20:46

9. Jensen Beach (16th)
--Another team that has improved dramatically from a year ago. It seems as their front-runner Emily Houston goes, so do the rest of them. They had an impressive showing the last time they raced down in Dade City where they placed 2nd to the "Park" in their race. The 2-5 pack will not put anyone away but their 40 sec spread is better than most, and will keep them in the hunt.
Season BEST avg: 21:15

10. Ransom Everglades (6th in 1A)
11. Lecanto (4th)
12. Newsome High School (DNQ)
13. Guliver Prep (11th)
14. Stanton (8th)
15. South Lake (DNQ)
16. Academy of Holy Names (6th)
17. Estero (16th in 3A)
18. Cocoa Beach (9th)
19. Pensacola Catholic (15th)
20. Bishop Verot (18th)
21. Lincoln Park (10th)
22. Key West (DNQ)
23. Gulf Breeze (12th)
24. Sebring High School (DNQ)

INDIVIDUALS
On the individual side, I'd say it'll take around 19:10 to crack the top 10

1.Bona Jones 12th Estero (2nd in 3A)
--Has been one of the most consistent runners in the state, regardless of classification. Unbeaten against 2A competition. Gave us a little taste of what's to come at her district meet when she popped off a 17:48 solo effort. After the 1st mile, Jones will likely be by herself running to her first state title.
2T. Laura Steel/Maggie Traylor 10th Episcopal
--Steel and Traylor have been back and forth all season with Traylor posting the faster time (18:34 over Steel's 18:47). If it comes down to a kick, I'll take Steel's 2:19 800m speed any day. Steel has the district title and Traylor has the regional title. Who will be the "state" runner up?
4.Katie Traylor 8th Episcopal
--Part of the future of FL running, Traylor has given the eagles the depth they needed to become one of the best teams in the nation. Her 18:38 performance @ Holy Trinity was only a sign of things to come.
5.Emily Ingham 11th Episcopal
--The veteran of the group continues to battle back from a devastating mid-season injury that sidelined her for 4 weeks. An 18:15 performer from a year ago, Ingham has the toughness to return to her 04' form and lead the charge again. Has season best of 19:02.
6.Leslie Blackshear 8th Episcopal
--One of 3 eighth graders on the team, Blackshear's emergence has contributed to the eagle's powerful depth. If she can hang with the rest of them then sub 19 is inevitable. Has season best of 19:03.

7.Jessie Prendergast 8th Lake Highland
--Had a breakout race at her district meet posting an 18:56, and collecting the win. Had not shown much consistency till late, but anything can happen with this talented 8th grader.
8.Devin Spoerle 10th Astronaut
--Spoerle has been erratic as well, but like last year she is running her best when it counts the most. Her 19:03 PR is as good as broken.

9T. Emily Houston 11th Jensen Beach
9T. Kathrine Carrington 12th North Broward Prep

--These two have had an interesting rivalry all-season as each one has collected wins by distinct margins over the other. Jensen, an 11:33 two miler, is enjoying a breakout season, while Carrington is slowly returning to her 04' form. Carrington surprised everybody with her 18:53 run at the state meet last year. No surprises this year. Will come down to who wants it the most.

11. Alex Heuertz 10th BK
12. Andrea Mascaro 11th PJP
13. Caroline Barlow 11th Bolles
14. Brooke Hardington 9th Episcopal
15. Mary-Catherine Ingham 8th Episcopal
16. Leeann Eble 9th Pasco
17. Jenna Redfearn 12th PJP
18. Laura Hempel 11th Rickards
19. Ashlyn Bickwermert 12th Naples
20. Erin Heaney 11th Stanton
21. Amy-Beth Gallogly 12th Bolles
22. Emily Robinson 12th PJP
23. Tiarra Harrell 12th Bolles
24. Liz Sicillia 11th BK
25. Alyssa Thompson 9th Astronaut

3A GIRLS PRESTATE RANKINGS

By: Tim Brooks - ktkbrooks@hotmail.com

There were mild surprises at Regions this year as I am sure there will be at states. Below is each teams Region number, Region finish, Region team time plus Region team points. REMEMBER rankings are all subjective to ones opinion of not only team times and places but also coaching, courses run and a teams state performance in years past. Good luck at states ladies.
1.Satellite (R4,1st,1:44:31, 25pts. Can any team compete with these sisters of Satellite. We shall see and you better take your shot now because all these girls return next year!)
2. Wharton (R2,1st,1:40:40, 42pts. This team is hitting the gas petal at the right time to move up into the runner up position. Wow, wow, wow what a pack!)
3. Vanguard (R2,2nd,1:39:42, 53pts. Yea they have been a step behind lately but their strong 1-2 punch with Kelly and Tori could push them higher.)
4 Plant (R2,3rd, 1:40:33, 54pts. I expect that these ladies might be a little upset after their finish at regions. Watch out. )
5. Chiles (R1,1st,1:41:16, 47pts. I told you that they were making a move to the top five. Of course lets face it they are just a better team with Kelly back.)
6. St Thomas Aquinas (R4,2nd,1:48:13, 47pts. There are two teams that could be a surprise at states here is the first.)
7. Oak Ridge (R4,3rd,1:48:23, 53pts. I am not counting them out quite yet but they are a couple steps behind.)
8. Ft Walton Beach (R1, 2nd, 1:45:11, 96pts. A dangerous team that is hard "not" to rank this high.)
9. Ft Myers (R3,1st,1:52:03, 77pts. These girls have won a lot of races including their district and region but its hard to move up the polls when you do not have an elite runner.)
10. Leon Tallahassee (R1, 3rd, 1:47:31, 125pts. I may be ranking them a bit high but I did say there are "two" teams that could surprise didn't I.)
11. Nease (R1,4th, 1:46:49, 125pt. This team has fallen from grace but that's why we race states. Redemtion! )
12. Choctawhatcheee (R1,5th,1:47:53, 141 pts. Running states will appear easy after making it out of a region like this. )
13 Lely (R3,2nd, 1:52:32, 90pts. A team with some young stud runners they just need a little bit better depth)
14. Lake Region (R2, 4th,1:50:51, 148pts. Surprised me a bit by stepping up to the plate in their region. Congrats.)
15. Washington (R1. 6th, 1:48:12, 143 pts. Another R1 team that is peaking well in time for regions ie did I mean states!)
16. Mariner (R3,3rd,1:53:30, 107 pts. This is a small team which has produced big time results)
17. Brandon (R2,5th, 1:51:25, 153 pts. I do not believe regions showed this teams true potential..)
18. Barron Collier (R3,5th, 1:55:45, 133pts. Had a tough time in their region but the talent is there.) 19. Venice (R3,4th,1:54:48, 126pts. The only 2A girls team last year to qualify for 3A states this year. )
20. New Smyrna Beach (R4,4th, 1:54:11,111pts. Bumped/ Surprised Rocklege in their region.)
21. Seminole (R3,6th,1:54:29, 136pts. The only team from their District 5 to make it to states)
22. Rockledge (R4,5th,1:54:40,114pts. A team that has fallen off a bit and I am not sure why.)
23. Wesley Chapel (R2,6th,1:55:21, 205pts. If there is one person pushing their girls into states this year this is the coach. Congrats! )
24. Lake Howell (R4,6th,1:59:44,209pts. Every year there is one surprise team out there that never gets ranked. That's why we run the races.)

4A GIRLS PRESTATE RANKINGS

By: Ary Montalvo - Amontalvo@belenjesuit.org

I would like to first of all thank all of the coaches, parents and athletes (past and present) that kept me up to date with information on their teams. I can honestly say that it was an honor and a pleasure doing this year rankings. As always, I tried to give the recognition to those who deserved it the most, the girls who sacrifice and work so hard to make this one of the most enjoyable and greatest sport ever.

This weekend the only ranking that will really matter is how you or your team finishes at the State Championship. As for my humble opinion, it's just that, an opinion. Have fun this weekend and I wish everyone the very best.

1.Buchholz – the region 1 champions continues to impress and looks like they will be very tough to beat. Coach Norris has done a great job this season keeping his team ready, focused and healthy.
2.Our Lady of Lourdes Academy – the region 4 champions had not race their top seven runners in the same race since October 7. The regional race proved that they are ready. This team will need a great performance if they hope to upset the Buchholz.
3.Riverview – the region 2 champions jumped back to number 3 spot after a very impressive win in a dog fight with Melbourne and Palm Harbor. They definitely have what it takes, I don't see the defending 4A Champions going down without a fight.
4.Melbourne – a big surprise this season. This team steadily kept improving over the season and pulled some major upsets over some of the previously top ranked teams.
5.Niceville – finished 2nd in their regional, they always do well at the state meet.
6.Palm Harbor – this team just kept improving over the season. A close finish for second in their region has impressed me.
7.Wellington – the region 3 champions have the state best runner on their team, but Wellington also has a few more girls that can help it finish in the top 5. don't let their regional times fool you, they ran on one of the toughest and slowest course in the south Florida.
