Postcards from College

After the state meet in May, we received a really nice card from First Academy hurdler (and four-time state champion) Ansley Gebben. It really meant a lot to us. That got me thinking about all of these kids who we have followed for all of these years now scattering off around the country. Wouldn't it be nice to hear from them again? This late summer and fall as our newly-minted Florida high school alumni arrive at their respective homes for the next four years, we would like to encourage them to send in their postcards from their college town. We will scan and publish them here in a regular weekly feature.

You might be thinking... postcards?!?  Mail?!?  Yes, I know. I am a techie myself and generally try to avoid using paper at all costs. But there is just something special, intimate, and nostalgic about a hand-written note in the mail. So once you arrive at school next month at whatever college or university you landed in, please send us a note and let the Florida running community know where you are, what you're up to, and anything else on your mind!

On behalf of myself (Jason Byrne), Todd Grasley, and all of us who follow our Florida Runners: thank you, athletes, for sharing your lives with us. We love you and our thoughts are with you as you transition to the next chapter in your lives both as athletes and as individuals. God bless you and good luck!
