Lake Brantley Invitational

4x100 Race Video: Marvin Bracy vs. Levonte Whitfield

Summary

Sophomore Erica Sergeant of Lake Mary had the top national showing of the meet with a 12-0 clearance in the pole vault. That is just shy of her 12-1 personal best from last year and puts her at the state leader and US #5.

USF signee and Lake Brantley senior Otniel Teixeira continued his unbeaten streak this year with two wins. He got by Billy Anguish in the 800 with a 1:54.15 to 1:54.77... and bested his own state lead in the 1600 with a 4:19.85. Not too many big distance races yet this outdoor season, but that is $2 in the nation so far.

Synjohn Lilly of Apopka took two titles as well by sweeping the short sprints with a 10.64 and 21.47 in the 100 and 200, respectively. Lilly was also part of an in insane last leg battle (video above) between himself, Levonte Whitfield, and Marvin Bracy. The Olympic hopeful Bracy outkicked them all for a come-from-behind victory, but Lilly held off Brooks PR 60 Meter Champ Whitfield to keep Apopka in second place behind Boone and in front of Jones... 42.44 to 42.45 to 42.50! WOW!

Lilly's teammate Kimlon Dillon (who was most likely part of that 4x100 also) swept the hurdles with a 14.71 and a 37.71... the 300 Hurdle time is third in the state and nation at this point.
