P.K. Yonge distance standout Jordan Brown is busy putting the finishing touches on a successful senior season. Brown finished eighth at the 1A Cross Country Finals and is posting solid numbers in his outdoor campaign.  He has advanced to the State Championship this week in three events, the 1600 ,4x400 relay and 4x800 relay. Coaches have taken notice of his performances and recently Brown made his college decision to attend Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale. He says location played a key factor in where he would run for the next four years.

"One of the main reasons I chose Nova is because it's closer to my parents and family. I also though the team was going to be really strong next year, and the school, facilities, and coaches were what I was looking for in college."

The decision came down to Nova, Augusta State University in Georgia, and King College in Bristol, Tennessee. Next year, Brown plans to branch out and try the steeplechase in addition to the 1500, and 800. He says he will run whatever Coach Hagopian tells him to run and is looking forward to meeting the rest of the freshman class.

Now that the weight is lifted from his shoulders Brown can focus on the last few weeks of his high school running career. Although, he has one more open race next week at state, he still has postseason times he wants to hit.

"My goals for the year in track are to run 4:22 in the mile and 1:58 in the 800 which I'm going for at the Holy Trinity Showdown, and is our school record. I want to hit 9:40 in the two mile and 8:05 in the 4x800 which would also be a school record."
