Seymour Returns To Hagerty For Senior Season

One of the top cross country runners in the state is returning to Hagerty High School for her senior season. Bryce Seymour ran her freshman and sophomore year under coach Jay Getty, but decided to transfer to Circle Christian for her junior year. She says the initial switch to Circle and then to Hagerty for her last year were based on academic reasons.

"There were a number of factors that weighed into my decision to transfer back to Hagerty. I went to Circle Christian for the academic options that it offered me in the way of Dual Enrollment as a junior. Seniors at Hagerty are permitted to take Dual Enrollment classes full time, which is the academic excellence I am looking for. Basically it came down to me deciding where I felt most comfortable."

Seymour is currently out in Colorado building her base for the upcoming season. She says she is getting in her summer miles and working hard to get in the best shape she can. As a junior, she placed second at the state meet in the 3200m and finished fourth at the 1A Cross Country Finals in a time of 18:36.66. She has a personal best of 17:41.15 and this year is hoping to dip into the low 17's.

My goals are to go into the low 17's and as a team I think we have the potential to be a strong contender for a podium spot come November. I am thrilled to be headed back to Hagerty to finish my high school running career with the incredibly talented group of athletes, friends, and coaches that I started my high school running career with."
