The Celery Fields in Sarasota were just that in the 1920's. In the 1990's the land became prime viewing grounds for photographing over 200 species of birds. Thursday the Celery Fields will be the host of the Tri-County Championships which features teams from Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties. On the girl's side Angelina Grebe leads the Sarasota girls while the boys field is headlined by Sarasota's Adam Bradtmueller who hopes to guide the Sailors to the sweep. The team will be without Zack Summerall who is vacationing in Virginia while Sarasota Riverview will sit out it's top guys in preparation for the state series. Tom Connor will be on-site with photos of all the action and we will also have results and a recap of the day's happenings. Check out our virtual meet preview and see how we predict the meet to play out!

Solar Eclipse Doesn't Slow Down Sailors At Tri-County Championships
Oct 24, 2014
Manatee, Sarasota, and Charlotte county schools tackled one of the tougher courses in the state at the Tri-County Championships. Normally in Florida if you want to run on an incline you are to find a bridge, but in Sarasota the Celery Fields contain a hill that has multiple steep, short climbs. Teams managed to get their run in as the earth was in the midst of creating a rare phenomena; a partial solar eclipse.
