Meet Information
*******2/11/15 update************
Coaches meeting will be moved to 7:30am. As far as the throwers relay, we will not do that event this year and that event will be removed from registration. Also please let your athletes know that we will check in for field events at the event and for the running events we will check in at the table near the main track entrance.
Welcome to the official site of the Charles Johnson Jr. Invitational.
Registration is now open. If you are interested in this meet please contact Deirdre.johnson@sdhc.k12.fl.us so that you can get the password.
This year is going to be very special for Mr. Charles Johnson Jr. because this will be the 20th year this meet has been held in his honor. For the 20th anniversary edition we will be doing things a little differently. During this meet we will have our first Quatathlon Competition.
Question: What is a Quatathlon?
Answer: This is an event designed after the Heptathlon and the Decathlon for the multi-athlete. The participating athlete must compete in the following four events (100m/110m hurdles, long jump, shot put, and the 800 meters).
Question: When will the Quatathletes compete?
Answer: They will be in the heat or flight before or after the regular track and field participants, except for the shot put. For the shot put if they finish the long jump before the start of the regular shot put they will begin before them. If they finish the long jump after the regular shot put has already began they will get their attempts at the completion of the regular shot put competition. In the shot put and the long jump they will receive all three of their attempts.
Question: Can the Quatathlete compete in more than these four events?
Answer: No they cannot.
