Wharton Wildcat Invitational

The 4th annual Wharton Wildcat Invitational is to be held on Saturday February 25th 2017. The meet will take place on our 8 lane polyurethane rubber track located on our lovely Wharton High campus.

Payments- Mail checks to Wharton High School (Wildcat Track Invitational) 20150 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. Tampa, FL 33647 Attn. Eddie Henderson. All payments need to be received by Feb. 18.

Coaches, please review the PowerPoint on rule changes from the FHSAA at http://www.fhsaa.org/officials/rules-updates/track-field. All FHSAA rules, including rules on uniforms, will be enforced at the clerk's tent before athletes can check in. We will also be checking spikes to make sure only 1/4-inch or smaller pyramid spikes are used. Athletes must bring their spikes with them to check in.

All teams will be limited to 3 individuals per event and only one relay team per event. Field events will also have the same amount of entries with 3 individual per event with a final only 4 attempts (except for high jump and pole vault, which will be 3 attempts). There will be unseeded 1600m races in the morning with a seeded top 16 girls/boys 1600m run in finals. The same method will be used for the 3200m as we will have races in the morning for the girls not in the top 16 entries. The list of athletes accepted in the seeded 1600m and 3200m are below in the meet message board.

There will be awards for top 8 finishers in each event, with trophies to the championship and runner up teams. The entry fee for team will be $75 per gender or $100 per school (Both boys and girls teams together). Concessions will be open throughout the day with a wide variety of food and drinks. The meet will have a limit of 45 schools and will be password required to enter on flrunners.com. There are a variety of hotels located in the New Tampa area offering group rates to accommodate team traveling from out of town.
