Meet Information

Stadium Course 3K & IMSC Championship

Episcopal School of Jacksonville

Monday, October 9

Join us as we celebrate the final month of the cross country season for middle school runners at the 3K distance. This race is open to all middle school teams, 6-8th grade, regardless of conference affiliation. For all teams, this meet is a basic qualifier for the Florida Youth Running Association Championship. For more information about placement in basic qualifiers, go to www.floridayouthrunners.com/flyra.html

In addition to being a qualifier for the FLYRA State Championship, this meet will serve as the championship for Independent Middle School Conference (IMSC) member teams; therefore, the IMSC member teams with the highest and second highest team finishes will be designated IMSC Cross Country Team Champion and Team Runner-Up respectively.

The meet will award overall meet winners as well, regardless of conference affiliation. More on those awards below.

Stadium at the conclusion of racing

Entry will be limited to the first 20 teams entered.

Only the top 5 runners will be scored, and only the top 7 runners will be counted for displacement in the team scores. Each team has unlimited entry, and starting positions will be on a first come first served basis.

Course

The course will start on the main campus River Field and loop around the riverside terrain before passing through an adjoining neighborhood on its way to a dramatic finish before our newly-built Langford Track Stadium. Overall, the footing is diverse and challenging: soft field (muddy after rain), crushed rock, mulch, asphalt, and rubberized track. Access the map below:

Awards

There will be a total of 4 team awards and 4 individual awards for the race, along with ribbons for top-10 finishers.

First, overall Team Winner and Runner-Up will receive a team plaque as the Stadium Course 3K Winner and Runner-Up, respectively and regardless of conference affiliation.

Plaques to the individual winner of each race, and ribbons to the top 10 finishers in each race, regardless of conference affiliation.

Additionally, an IMSC Championship Team Trophy and Team Runner-Up Trophy will be awarded to the highest and second highest placing IMSC-member school team.

An IMSC Individual Champion Trophy will be awarded to the highest placing individual from an IMSC-member school.

For clarification, teams and individuals may win more than one award. As an example, if an IMSC-member team places first out of all teams, then that team will be awarded both the Stadium Course 3K plaque for first place AND the IMSC Championship trophy. On the other hand, if a non-IMSC team places first, that team will be awarded the Stadium Course 3K plaque while the highest finishing IMSC-member team will be awarded the IMSC Championship trophy. The same logic applies to individual winners.

Entry Deadline: Friday, October 6. Please visit www.flrunners.com for entry details.
