We are planning on running a single combined B/G race at 8:00am, rain or shine. I will provide bibs to the athletes and there will be a clock at the finish. However, it will not be chip timed. We will attempt to have a finishing chute to determine times and places but coaches are encourage to self-time their athletes.
The course will begin at the stadium. Runners will complete a "down & back" on the field and then exit the stadium heading towards the west side of campus. There they will complete 2 laps around our sports complex and "Stingray Bay". After their second loop, runners will return back to the stadium the same way they came. The finish line will be on the track and measures out to 5K. This is a brand new course, athletes and coaches are encouraged to arrive early enough to walk the course. It will be marked but does have a section that goes through the woods and near Bullfrog Creek. Maps will be provided at check-in. Roughly 1/3 of the course is pavement and 2/3 grass.
Spectators are encouraged to attend but must wear masks and socially distance. Athletes are expected to be wearing masks and should only take them off while running. It is the responsibility of the each schools coach to ensure that their parents are following all of Hillsborough County school district Covid-19 precautions. NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO ATTEND IF THEY ARE EXPERIENCE ANY COVID-19 SYMPTOMS OR HAS BEEN IN CONTACT WITH A PERSON DIAGNOSED.
The school athletic trainer will be at the race if anything is needed. Due to county guidelines, no communal water is available. Teams are required to bring their own supply of hydration.
Parking lot gates will be open at 6:45AM and please check-in with Coach Ahonen no later than 7:30AM to receive your team packet. Please park in the lot nearest the stadium.
