Welcome to the 2nd Annual Sumner Stingray Shuffle!
Team trophies to be awarded to the Champions and Runners-Up for b/g varsity teams. 1st place trophies will be awarded to the Top Overall Finisher in both varsity races. The top 10 individuals for the varsity races will receive a race t-shirt as well as the first 5 boys and first 5 girls in the JV race.

** Please make sure you read through the following updates; 9/25/2021
-Girls Varsity will BEGIN at 7:45am.... Due to our course design, the start-finish area overlap so we want to ensure a clear finish area for all female athletes prior to start of the boys Varsity.
-We created separate JV and Varsity categories for race registration. PLEASE assign your runners to the appropriate race. Remember, only 7 runners are allowed for Varsity and JV is unlimited entries.
-TRC Race Management has agreed to time our race. Thank you Bill Jenkins. Also, we have ordered custom Sumner HS bibs for all of the runners!
-I'm happy to announce that the Varsity race will be live-streamed by Stream Live Tampa. This will be the first XC race they have attempted to record and should be something cool and unique for the runners and spectators.
-Fit2Run, The Running Superstore, will be hosting a "Tent Sale" during the event. They are bringing a variety of discounted running shoes for runners and spectators to purchase. Most of the shoes will range from $30-$50 and should include HOKA, BROOKS, ASICS, NIKE AND MORE. CASH ONLY and a portion of each sale will be donated back to our program.
-We plan to have a concession stand available and Kona Ice will be at the race for your enjoyment.
Race Schedule:
6:30 Campus and Parking Opens (Only the parking lot near the west side of campus, nearest our baseball facility, will be used. Participants/spectators will have to walk through campus to reach the Stadium. Signs will be provided)
7:15 Coaches Meeting at Timing Tent
7:45 Girl Varsity (7 athlete max)
Approx. 8:40 Boys Varsity (7 athlete max)
Approx. 9:15 JV Race (Combined boys and girls, unlimited entries)
Approx. 10:00 Awards

Course Description:
This is a newer course, athletes and coaches are encouraged to arrive early enough to walk the course. It will be marked but does have a section that goes through the woods and near Bullfrog Creek. Maps will be provided at check-in.
Spikes are NOT recommended for racing. If your athletes decide to wear spikes, the max length is 1/4" (due to track crossings and pavement sections).
Last year's course map is located below. Slight adjustments may be made depending on weather.
At the start, runners will run north on the field and then exit the stadium heading towards the west side of campus. Once there, they will complete 2 laps around our sports complex and "Stingray Bay". After the second loop, runners will return to the stadium the same way they came. The finish line will be located on the field and measures accurately to 5k.
