The 2022 FHSAA 4A Region 3 Track and Field Championship Meet will take place at Boone High School on Saturday, May 7th. The meet will follow the FHSAA rules and guidelines as outlined in the FHSAA Track & Field Sport Manual 2021-2022 Edition. Please familiarize yourself with the information below and share it with your coaches, athletes, and parents. Best of luck to you and your athletes!

Gates will open at 11:00 am for athletes and coaches and 12pm for spectators.

Bus Parking: Buses will be permitted to drop off athletes and equipment in the parking lot located off Summerlin Ave. Buses will then be asked to move to the junior/senior parking lot located off Mills Ave.

Parking: There are two parking lots available. One off Summerlin Ave. and another off Mills Ave as noted on the facility map.

Coaches Packets: Packets will contain 4 coachs wristbands and a meet information sheet. Packets are available for pick-up by the timing tent.

Admissions: All individuals are subject to pay admission except athletes wearing a team jersey and coaches wearing a coachs wristband. Tickets are available online through GoFan. Team Tents: The team tent area will be stationed in the outfield of the softball field. You can place your team tent anywhere within the grass area (see the facility map for more details).

Trainer and Medical Assistance: The trainer and trained medical staff will be located at the finish line near the hydration station at the medical tent. If you have an athlete with a medical need including first-aid treatment and post-race icing, please send them to the medical tent.

Timing/Results: Timing will be conducted by Elite Timing. Live results will be available at www.elitetiming.net

Awards: Trophies will be presented to the boys and girls team champions and the boys and girls team runners-up at the end of the meet. Individual medals will be presented to the top 3 finishers in each event. Medals can be retrieved by the athletes at the awards tent by the clerking tent.

Advancement:

4.14.2.2.4 Advancement of Teams and Individuals

(b) Regional Meet to Florida High School State Championship.

(1) The top two (2) marks in each event at the regional championship meet automatically qualify for the state championship meet.

(a) All ties resulting in more than two (2) automatic qualifiers to the state meet must be broken using appropriate NFHS tie-breaking procedures.

(i) NFHS Rule 6-3 to be applied for field events.

(ii) A run-off shall occur for running events.

(iii) Points for second place ties will be distributed according to NFHS

Rules 5-8 and 6-3 as the tie-breaking procedure is for advancement only.

(2) The next best marks in each class equal to the number of open lanes on the state finals venue track not automatically qualifying by place at the regional championship in each event will qualify for the state championship. These qualifiers will be known as at large bids.

(a) In 2022, the number of at-large bids shall not exceed ten (10) in any event. (b) The at-large qualifying bids, once announced, are final.

(c) Regional championship meets will run on the same day.

(i) Regional championship meet event schedules will be substantially

similar in each classification.

(ii) At-large qualifiers will be announced via TFRRS Florida.

Spikes: The track surface is all weather rubber. 6mm or inch pyramid spikes are the maximum size allowed on the track surface.

Check-in: Check in for field and running events will be made by event and gender. First call will be made 30 minutes before the noted start time of each event. All athletes should be checked in by the 2nd call.

Staging Area: There will be a staging area on the in-field for athletes waiting to run the next event. Only athletes that have been cleared to run in the next event will be allowed in the staging area.

Competition: No one except competing athletes will be allowed on the infield. No athletes will be allowed on the infield unless they have checked in and are participating in the upcoming event. Warm-ups will be allowed on the infield in the staging area after check-in. Athletes must leave the infield immediately at the conclusion of their heat or event. Athletes not in compliance will be disqualified from all events.

Coaches Boxes: Coaches boxes will be marked off for long & triple jump, high jump, pole vault, discuss, shot put and javelin in and around the areas for each event. Coaches must stay in the coaches box.

Implement Weigh-in: Implement weigh-in will begin promptly at 11:30 am. All implements that are to be used for shot put, discus, javelin, and pole vault must be weighed and verified prior to the start of competition.
