Meet Information

Coaches,
We are excited to host this years Class 2A, District 9 Track & Field Championships. We will do everything possible to make it a good one. Listed below are some general instructions. If you have any questions about the meet, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Spectator Admissions / Parking: Spectator admission is purchased ONLY via GoFan. It is highly recommended that spectators pre-purchase tickets before arrival to eliminate waiting. The QR code will be available at the gate and there is NO CASH accepted. The link for this event is: https://gofan.co/app/events/593795?schoolId=FL5786

Additionally, our school will be in session for the early afternoon events. We have VERY LIMITED parking on our campus (please try to arrive by bus or vans prior to 4:00). It is likely that all of our spots will fill very quickly. Our overflow parking will be at Westgate Baptist Church located at the corner of Hillsborough and Kelly Roads. Please do NOT ARRIVE on campus between the hours of 2:30 3:30 (this is our pick-up time and the traffic will be quite daunting). Please be aware that some of the parking spaces may require some additional time to walk to the stadium.

Ticket Price As per the FHSAA 6.00

Bus Parking: All buses should use the Bray Road Entrance Gate. Buses will be directed to drop-off by the track and then will be directed to park at Westgate Baptist Church (corner of Hillsborough and Kelly).

Athlete and Spectator Entrance: All Spectators, Athletes, and Coaches will enter through the gate on the Northeast side of the track, by the E.C. Smith Tennis Complex. Please have your smart phone ready for scanning the GoFan QR Code. If you leave the stadium area, with the expectation to return, please stop by the gate on the way out and they will inform you of the method that will be used for re-entrance. Most of the other gates around the track will be locked down. Please do not jump any fences!

Additional Bathrooms: In addition to our bathroom facility located near the entrance to the track complex, the Straz Family Field House lower floor will be open for bathroom access. You may access these bathrooms through the main / front entrance. Athletes / Spectators will NOT be allowed to loiter in the downstairs of the building. Security personnel will be present.

Athlete Event Check-In: All running events will check in at the Clerking Tent. Clerk Tent location will be announced at the coaches meeting.

Field Event Coaches Boxes: Coaches Boxes will be established at the Girls Long Jump / Triple Jump Pit (located along southwest side of the track (near the pirate ship). Additionally, a coachs box will be established near the shot put area (on the outside of the track near the shed). All other venues should have adequate coaching access.

Trainers: Athletic trainers will be provided on site. The trainers will not provide massages. They are there to help facilitate immediate injuries. The trainers have a tent near the top of the first curve and, if necessary, can take athletes into the training room located in the Straz Family Fieldhouse.

Tents: Please MAKE SURE that your tents are appropriately STAKED / WEIGHTED so that they do not blow away. Tents are permitted on the East side of the track in Kuhns Field (Tent City). Please DO NOT set up your tents elsewhere! Teams may NOT place any tents in the stands. Please clean up your area upon departure. Please secure your tent in the case of wind!

Concessions: Our concession stand will be open all day offering a variety of food. Please note that our concession stand does NOT accept cash. Credit/Debit cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay only.

Track Rules: No Gum is allowed on the track surface. Spike length is limited to inch or less. Tape will be allowed for exchange zones.

Awards & Results: Results will be posted to gunlaprunning.com go to the meet page and click on the event. Full results will eventually post to flrunners, TFRRS, and FHSAA. The District Champion and Runner-up will receive trophies at the conclusion of the event. The top 8 athletes / relay teams in each event will receive ribbons. In an attempt to reward athletic accomplishment, we will present the top 8 athletes on an award stand in the field on the front straight-away following each event. Please notify your field event athletes that placed in the top 8 to listen to the announcement to report to the awards area in the infield to receive their awards.

Weights and Measures: All shots, discs, Javs must be weighed in prior to competition. All Pole Vaulters must be weighed in and have their poles checked prior to competition. The Shot Put, Discus, Javelin Weigh-in area is near the Shed at the south area of the track). All implements will be impounded and brought to the site. Any shots, discs, or javelins that does not make weight will be impounded until competition is over Please do NOT forget to pick up your equipment.

Opening Heights: This will be established once the field is set and communicated during our coaches meeting.

Inclement Weather Procedure: If it rains on Thursday adjustments may be made in the schedule. Meet management will make the decision on whether to delay some events because of inclement weather.
