2026 Mustang Invitational UPDATED Info
I want to communicate our updated plan for the Mustang
Invitational on Thursday, March 12. The meet **is not cancelled**.
Please see the
attached schedule of events. There are several important updates-please
adjust your schedules and entries accordingly:
1. **Unseeded heats** have been moved up 15 minutes and will
now begin at **2:00 PM**.
2. We will **not** run an unseeded 3200m. All 3200m runners
will compete prior to the 4x400 at the conclusion of the meet.
3. The meet will now operate on a **rolling schedule**.
4. We understand this may create challenges for field
events. With your assistance, athletes should check out when necessary and
return promptly. They should remain at their field event until they are called.
5. For **Javelin**, two throwing areas will be used for the
first flight of both divisions. All subsequent flights will take place on the
practice field in front of the school.
6. **Discus** will begin immediately following the first
flight of Boys Javelin.
7. We will review field event entries to determine whether
stricter minimum requirements are necessary.
We are also working to provide shelter for student-athletes
and coaches in the event of a lightning delay. If you arrive with a charter or
large bus, we ask that you use it as your primary shelter location. Coaches
will still have access to a hospitality room, though it may be relocated to a
classroom if the cafeteria is needed for team shelter.
