Whispering Pines is well known as one of the best Cross Country Courses in the area. It is mostly shaded and a mixture of small hills and flat stretches. Approx. 2.5 miles on hard-packed dirt trails, .2 on asphalt, .2 on limerock road, .2 on Grass Field. The Citrus Summer Showdown in July uses most of the same course, but does not do the start and finish on the big field. Because the start narrows quickly, there are a limited number of teams that can participate.
