Coach Ken Vinal has spent the past 14 years at Trinity Prep and the last 12 as the boys head coach. Over that time he has won four state championships including the latest in 2013, the Saints first year in 2A.

In this series we take a look at state championship and runner-up coaches, their outlook on the team, the season, and 2014. Coach Gary Droze has been at Maclay for 20 years.  Between cross-country and track & field, his teams have won twenty state titles and finished runner-up fourteen times. The finishes are evenly split between gender and sport (e.g. boys' and girls' cross-country have both earned five state championships; boys have been runner-up three times, girls four). In 2013, the Marauders finished runner-up for the second year in a row at the 1A Cross Country Finals.

In this series we take a look at state championship and runner-up coaches, their outlook on the team, the season, and 2014. Coach Scott Gowan has been coaching for 28 years and has racked up 14 state championships and nine runner-up trophies. His most recent came in 2013, as the Chiles boys finished runner-up in the 3A Cross Country Finals.

Coach Tony Ryan has been coaching for 22 years, 16 at Bolles, and has been the girls coach since 2003. In 2013, the girls cross country team picked up their second straight 2A championship.

In this series we take a look at state championship and runner-up coaches, their outlook on the team, the season, and 2014. St. Thomas Aquinas coach Trish Butler lead both the boys and girls teams to state titles in 2013. It marked the second consecutive for the Lady Raiders which relied on a strong core of returning runners.

In this series we take a look at state championship and runner-up coaches, their outlook on the team, the season, and 2014. Kevin Curran is in his seventh year coaching and third as the head coach of the Bishop Kenny boys. The 2013 marks his fourth podium finish overall. Curran was an assistant Bishop Kenny when the boys won the state title in 2009, and was the head coach when the boys were second in 2011, state champs in 2012, and second this year.

Holy Trinity Coach Doug Butler is in his 14th year coaching the boys and girls cross country teams at Holy Trinity. In 2013, the girls picked up their third state title in five years and seventh in school history.

In this series we take a look at state championship and runner-up coaches, their outlook on the team, the season, and 2014. Eric Pino has been coaching since 2005 spending six years as an assistant at Columbus High School. He then took a year off before taking the head coaching position at Coral Reef two years ago. In his first stint, Pino was coach for four podium finishes by Columbus including three state championships from 2008-2010 and a runner-up finish in 2005. In 2013, he lead Coral Reef to the 4A runner-up trophy.

Pine Crest coach Paul Baur has been coaching boys and girls cross country for ten years. He spent his first seven at Westminster Academy and the last three at Pine Crest. In that time he has guided the girls cross country team to back to back podium finishes in 2012 and 2013.-3

Holy Trinity Coach Doug Butler is in his 14th year coaching the boys and girls cross country teams at Holy Trinity. In 2013, with a young, but experienced squad, the boys picked up their 7th state championship in school history.

Coach Jeff Sommer has been at Estero since it has opened and has been coaching girls for cross country the last ten years. This year the Wildcats picked up their fourth consecutive state championship cementing themselves as one of the most dominant programs in the state.

In this series we take a look at state championship and runner-up coaches, their outlook on the team, the season, and 2014. Coach Frankie Ruiz has been the leader of a powerhouse Belen Jesuit program for the last twelve seasons, and was an assistant for four before that. In his time the Wolverines have won seven cross country championships including their most recent this year.
