Athletes Of The Week : Teahna Daniels & Javon Patterson Todd Grasley Apr 11, 2014

First Academy junior Teahna Daniels and Boyd Anderson junior Javon Patterson are this week's Athletes of the Week. Daniels clocked a US#2 all conditions time of 11.37 to win at the prestigious Texas Relays. She followed that up with a head to head to win over East Ridge sophomore Kaylin Whitney, in a 11.44 seconds which is the fourth fastest all-conditions time of 2014. Patterson bested a very competitive field in the 800 meters, holding off the field, to finish first in a then US#2 and current US#5 time of 1:52.04.

East Ridge sophomore Kaylin Whitney and Leon junior Sukhi Khosla are our Athletes of the Week. Whitney clocked a US#1 times in both the 100 (11.59) and 200 (23.58) at the Lake Highland Track & Field Elite Classic and improved on that one week later at the Bob Hayes Invitational with wind-aided marks of 11.36  (US#1 all-conditions) and 23.45 (US#2 all-conditions). Khosla scored the distance double at the Bolles Bulldog Classic with a US#1 win the 1600 (4:13.02) and following it with a  then US#2  and current US#9 time of 9:11.70 in the 3200.

Athletes of the Week: Sparling Sizzles In Sprints, Victor Soaring To New Heights Todd Grasley Mar 07, 2014

St. Thomas Aquinas junior Krystal Sparling and Celebration senior Jhonny Victor are this week's Athletes of the Week. Sparling was a part of three US#1 performances at the Sam Burley Hall of Fame Invitational. She started off the day with an 11.66 clocking in the 100 meters (tied US#1), then was a member of the nation leading 4x200 meter team which is nearly two seconds faster than anyone else. Sparling capped off her night with a new personal best and US#1 time of 23.73 in the 200 meters. Fresh off basketball season, Victor leaped a personal best 6'10" at the St. Cloud Invitational. His mark is currently tops in Florida and in a four way tie for third in the country!

Athletes Of The Week: Kimani Austin-Reese & Keneth Pineiro Todd Grasley Feb 28, 2014

Miami Norland senior Kimani Austin-Reese and Deland senior Keneth Pineiro are this week's Athletes of the Week. Austin-Reese, a UCLA commitment kicked off the season  with a first place showing and state leading time of 43.17 in the 300 hurdles. Pineiro, coming off a fifth place showing at the 4A Cross Country Finals, proved he had the base work needed to be successful on the track. The Embry Riddle signee pulled the distance double at the East Coast Classic winning both the 1600 and 3200 meters in state leading times of 4:24.08 and 9:34.72 respectively.
