Bracy Busts Out US#1 10.25

Boone sprinting sensation Marvin Bracy busted out a US#1 time of 10.25 to win the 100 meter dash at the 4A Region 1 Championship. He followed that up with a time of 21.13 seconds in the 200 for his second win of the evening. Other great performances in the guys side include JP Friday of Colonial who cleared 6-08 in the high jump and 49-0 in the triple jump and finished third in the long jump. Jeff Badet another two sport athlete for Freedom High School won the event with a clearance of 23-09. Kimlon Dillion of Apopka won both the 110 and 300 hurdles in 14.13 and 37.75 respectively and had to avoid a squirrel to get the "W" in the 300s. There were some real tight battles in the distance events. Otniel Teixeira led Lake Brantley to wins in the 4x4 and 4x8 relays and then squeaked out an individual title in the 800  by beating Colonial's Moise Diodonet 1:53.36 to 1:53.85. Seven runners finished under 2:00. Colonial junior Andres Arroyo won the 1600 and then edged out Buchholz senior Chris Godwin in the 3200 9:36.45 to 9:36.67. Lake Brantley's Nathan Milch won the shotput (55-06) and sophomore Jamal Whitaker of Apopka took gold in the disc (173-09). Colonial won the team title  with 100 points 42 more than runner-up Apopka.
