Trotters Park: home to fearsome fire ants, people who hitch rides on horses, gazillions of grass-dwelling gnats, and members of various teams that spend way too much time chasing down their balls, only to throw them away again. Fortunately, once a year, a bunch of sane people do what this park was built for, and that is to run races.

Bale N Trail Original Coverage: Georgia's Brickell Gets by Arroyo

Considered by many to be the best runner in the state of Florida, Andres Arroyo boasts a personal best time of 14:59, a state championship, and wins in three out of four races this year. Josh Brickell is the seventh best runner in the nation. His personal best is 14:41, and he has yet to be beaten this year. It’s only mid-October, but with these two going head-to-head, Bail N Trail had the feel of a post season invitational.

Ralph's Musings: Five Star Conference Fresh/Soph Championship

I love this meet. Here, in one tight, two-hour package, is running as it should be: athletic enthusiasm without ego; volunteers that show up without being compelled to do so;  seemingly more parents and spectators than competitors; and, with these kids, a bright future without a dark past.

Seymour Leads Host Huskies To Victory, Pineiro Dips Under Sixteen

It was a beautiful morning for cross country running at Seminole State College - Oviedo Campus home of the 2012 Hagerty Invitational. Nearly two dozen teams took part in the three lap course. For some school's it will be their district meet course, for others it was a chance to get some more racing under their belts as the postseason looms. On-site coverage sponsored by Track Shack.

Manasota Invitational: Muddy Victories for Edwards, Bennett

The rainwater that stood shin deep on parts of the Macintosh Middle School trail on Monday was banished by course workers by Friday evening, but mud was left in its place on long stretches when the starters gun sounded the first time Saturday morning. A challenging course was now downright difficult as shoes would be lost in and legs would be sapped by the miring muck.
