Salute To Seniors: Kali Clemmer - Bloomingdale High School Todd Grasley Jun 14, 2016

The 2015-2016 school year has provided some great highlights in both cross country and track across the Sunshine State. In the coming weeks many of our seniors will head out to start their college careers both athletically and academically. We wanted to salute them one more time in this special feature and say thank you for your support over the years.


Final Rankings: Boys 110m Hurdles- Nobody Close To Touching Damion Thomas' 13.32 At Carifta Games Todd Grasley Jun 13, 2016

Northeast junior Damion Thomas, who will compete at the Jamaican Junior Championships this weekend, ran a blazing fast, state leading and US#1 time of 13.32s at the Carifta Games. The mark at the time was the best U-18 time in the WORLD. Although, no other Florida athlete was close to Thomas' times four other athletes ran under 14 seconds. Check out the top 500 boys times in the 110m hurdles for the 2016 season.

Brandon Cachon Can't Wait For Brooks PR Experience, Race Nation's Best Todd Grasley Jun 12, 2016

Before Brandon Cachon heads off to UNC he will compete in one last meet, the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle, Washington. The Barron Collier senior won the 3A state championship in the 400, anchored the 4x800m relay team, and was the 200m runner-up, helping his team to a runner-up trophy. Cachon wanted nothing more than to earn his ticket to Brooks PR by winning the 400m dash at Flo Golden South, but friend and competitor Tyrese Cooper stood in his way. However, he helped him to a SB 46.99 and the folks at Brooks took notice. We talked to Cachon about getting invited to this prestigious meet, his plans, and much more!


Sarah Wollaston Takes Gold In 100m At Trinidad & Tobago Junior Nationals Todd Grasley Jun 12, 2016

Last year, Khalifa St. Fort won the Trinidad and Tobago Junior National Championships and has since gone pro in that time. This year, her Born 2 Do It training partner Sarah Wollaston, a junior at Somerset Academy who has been with the group for eight months, ran to victory with a time of 12.03s. Wollaston's best race came in the semifinals where she clocked a 12.03 into a -.6 m/s wind which converts to 11.97 in zero wind. Boldon says he is incredibly happy for her success.


Auburndale's Chauncy Smart At His Best As Brooks PR Beckons Todd Grasley Jun 10, 2016

Auburndale junior Chauncy Smart is hungry. Hungry to prove he is one of the fastest sprinters not just in Florida, but in the rest of the country. Smart a two-sport standout in both football and track, clocked a then US#1 time of 10.30w to win the Pepsi Florida Relays. In fourteen races, he tallied two losses, with the last coming at the 3A state championship meet, a heartbreaking photo finish that saw him come up one one-hundredth of a second from the win. Following the meet, Smart thought his year was done, no postseason plans on the horizon, and spring football practice looming. He says he switched from his track spikes and laced up his cleats gearing up for the gridiron.


Final Rankings: Girls 3,200: Delay Dazzles With 10:30.30 To Win First Ever State Title Todd Grasley Jun 10, 2016

One college coach at the FHSAA State Finals called Kayley Delays 3,200m run one of the best he'd ever seen. Delay claimed her first ever state title winning the race in an amazing 10:30.30 and guide two other runners under 10:45. A total of 11 athletes ran under 11 minutes including eighth graders Natalie Varela and Alexandra Del Re. Fellow class of 2020 standout Valerie Lastra was right at 11 minutes. Salute To Seniors: Suzanne Dannheim - The Bolles School Todd Grasley Jun 10, 2016

Today, we salute Bolles senior Suzanne Dannheim. Dannheim has been a mainstay on the Bulldogs string of cross country state championships as well as their success on the track. She will continue her running career at George Washington University in the fall. Best of luck to Suzanne at the next level and congratulations on all her accomplishments over the last four years.


Final Rankings: Girls 1,600m - Nine Under Five Minutes Todd Grasley Jun 09, 2016

Riverview sophomore Bailey Hertenstein's 1,600m  race at the 4A state championship was simply INCREDIBLE, falling down and getting back up in the last lap to win. However, that wasn't her fastest performance of the year. Hertenstein was one of nine girls to run under FIVE MINUTES this season. Check out the top 500 times for 2016. 

Salute To Seniors: Nia Flagg - Gainesville High School Todd Grasley Jun 09, 2016

Nia Flagg was one of the most successful sprinters in North Florida the past four years. Flagg, made the finals of the 3A state championship since her sophomore season and finished 4th in 2016. The FSU signee owns a personal best time of 11.60 in the 100m dash and 24.85 in the 200. We caught up with her to talk about her high school career and much more in this Salute to Seniors moment.
