If you thought last week's Spikes & Spurs Classic was thrilling, the Bale-n-Trail Cross Country Original in Jacksonville could be even better. Check out our virtual meet/preview to see how we think the individual and team races will play out.
The girls race features NXN finalist Caitlin Collier of Bolles in her 2017 debut against a pair of Claire's in Creekside's Openshaw and Ponte Vedra's Moritz. The Bulldogs will run their top two in this race on varsity and then their 8-12 girls which will make the team competition more interesting with the likes of Ponte Vedra, Satellite, and Creekside.
On the boy's side Bolles Charles Hicks and Jacob Mcleod of Trinity Christian in Georgia had nearly identical personal bests in 2016. Both were Foot Locker Finalists. Both have a chance to win this race, but watch out for Joey Fitzpatrick. If there was any doubt to his fitness level, he silenced those critics beating Hicks last week head to head at the Spikes & Spurs Classic by six seconds. Not only is in the mix to win, but if he stays healthy he could add Foot Locker Finalist to his resume as well. Satellite is off to a red hot start in 2017 and should make the team battle exciting as well. Bolles edged out Vanguard last week and the two should be at it again this weekend.
