After all of the controversy and fast times later asterisk-ed as wind-aided, this was Jeff Demp's time to shine. Legally now he proved those times are for real, setting a new state meet record time of 10.37. Actually, he tied the previous record earlier in the day in the prelims (10.38) and then came back and did it again one hundreth of a second faster for the solo record!
Joseph Franklin will return back home to Tallahassee with a state meet record also, but he'll have another neck weight with a second gold in the 800 Meters. Franklin's record-setting time of 4:08.84 bettered the Sam Vazquez record of 4:09.44. The junior did it practically solo the last half of the race.
