As we head into the 2014 Cross Country Season, the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (F.A.C.A.) has set us up once again with a series of Bi-weekly Cross Country State Rankings for our personal enjoyment. These rankings will once again be compiled by our Volunteer Pollsters, a group of dedicated coaches in our Florida community, and will be compiled by using a variety of resources and information. Please feel free to contact them to give them any advice or positive feedback through this season; conversely, if there are any issues or concerns, please direct those to yours truly, Coach Raposo (contact information is listed below and at the end of this article as well).

Now due to the fact that it's still fairly early in the season, many of these rankings are a mixture of first week results, as well as a little bit of pollster's perspective based on preseason information and last year's returning runners. In a couple of weeks we'll all have a much better idea as to what the state really looks like in each classification, so like always, let's not place a huge emphasis on these early season rankings. | Commentary: This preview was written before first meet. Bolles might be the best team in any class, and Pine Crest has the potential if everything goes perfectly to match them thru 5. But they will have to be perfect at the right time, cause Bolles is so so deep. Ransom and Carrollton can expect a half dozen or so toe to toe battles again. It is fitting that school are located within walking distance in Miami. After those 4, is a conglomeration of teams that will be showing their hands soon. There will likely be a surprise, but who? | |||
