How did you get started in track and field?

My 6th grade year I was one of the fastest kids and loved to compete. Then I was introduced into the long jump which I fell in love with.

Do you remember you first meet?

I do remember it. It was at Barron Collier when I was in 6th grade. I ran the 100, the 4x100, and did the long jump. I won all but the 4x100.

What is it about the long jump that you love so much?

Everything. I love just running down that run way by yourself and jumping. I think loving to jump started with basketball. I just love to jump for no reason.

Do you ever find yourself just jumping over random things or jumping around in public for no reason?

Yes, always. The craziest thing I've ever jumped over was an eight foot fence and I cleared it easily.

You also compete in the triple jump. What makes you such a strong jumper?

I think it's my leg squatting ability. My favorite workout is a full body workout with bench, clean, squats, and the med ball.

What meets are you looking forward to this year and what are the goals for 2015?

I'm looking forward to the state meet. The goal is to win there.

On the football field, you are one of the top cornerbacks in the country. How does track help you with football and vice versa?

Track gets you faster which translate to football. Colleges always want multi-sport athletes.

You originally committed to the University of Florida, but have since backed off of that and switched to the University of Miami. How solid are you with the Canes?

I'm very solid. It's closer to home. I love it down there and I love the coaching staff. In addition to football, I will also compete in the long jump for the track and field team.
