When did you first learn that you were invited to the Brooks PR Invite and how did your react?
I first learned that I was invited the week after Golden South. My reaction was surprised and it was a blessing because I was going after the Dream 100 ticket. So to get the Brooks PR invite, it made me realize that there is always something better in store.
What does it mean to you to be invited to the Brooks PR Invitational?
It means a lot to be invited. It seems like such a great and' humbling experience. I can't wait.
What do you hope to achieve at the meet?
At this meet I just want to execute my race. I just want to finally put everything together and run a great race.
What music do you listen to before races?
I listen to a lot of different music before races. I like to "turn up" before my races. I don't want to take it too serious even though I know there is work to be done.
If you were stranded on an island with three things what would they be?
If I were stranded on an island three things they would be my phone, maybe a flashlight, and hopefully God there watching over me.
What would you consider as your best or most favorite race of all-time and why?
My best and most favorite race... I haven't ran it just yet.
What are some things people might not know about you?
Non running things people may not know are that I am very creative and crafty. I laugh a lot too. I'm very goofy.
How did you get started in the sport?
I just grew up always running around everywhere. Once I got in middle school everyone used to tell me I should run, so in 9th grade I actually got into it.
How has your training been leading up to the meet?
My training has been great. It's been very challenging because I'm training for my last meet, but everything is actually coming together.
What are you most looking forward about your trip, race and weekend at the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle?
I am looking forward to meeting new athletes that love the same sport as me. I hope that it is a great trip and experience. I'm hoping that I drop the hammer in my race and run my last great time of the year.
Alfreda had a double workout session on Tuesday and Coach Steven Rivers was gracious enough to share some of the video from session one which included:
"Bleacher warm up and 3x 100m form runs which by the end are very tiring."
Session two was just as intense he said.
"The workout was 2x 10m 1x 20m, 30m, 40m, 50m, 60m, 70m, 80m at 97% of her target time. We had a great workout today. She will be ready."
