Scott Hans announced today his decision to become a Florida Gator. The senior at Ridgeview High School is the first major male distance runner signing of the year for UF, a school that is ranked one of the top track teams in the country right now.
Hans has personal bests of 4:22 for the 1600 and 15:26 for the 5K distance, which came in his second place performance in the FHSAA 3A State Finals in November. He also finished in ninth place in the very elite flrunners.com Invitational Race of Champions. Scott is the son of Bob Hans, the former coach at Ridgeview.
