All-Decade Team Announced

After much deliberation, research, and consultation we finally have the prestigious list ready to release. Please understand the painstaking difficulty that went into creating this list. We have had so many great athletes over the past decade in Florida that so many deserving athletes will be excluded and not everyone will agree. However, these 50 men and 50 women have been chosen to the All-Decade team.

Here are some of the criteria....

1) Won at least a single state championship.
2) Winning many state championships does not necessarily guarantee a spot, performances will be judged based on the national caliber level of the performances.
3) Not simply a listing of those the top performancers on the all-time list; consistency, longevity, and big meet performances weigh heavy.
4) With some exceptions, ideal candidates found themselves at or near the top of the rankings for multiple years in their event(s).
5) Keywords in describing the athlete are "dominant" and "defined their event for their time."
6) Competed for a Florida high school between the 1999-2000 and 2008-2009 school years.

We tried to stick roughly with the formula of 15 distance, 15 sprints, 10 jumps (including vault), 5 hurdles, 5 throws. A few places we got "creative" with these classifications in order to get the best athletes in. So without further ado, here they are....
