Last year, we watched Valerie Lastra win the girls 1600m at the Miami Hurricane Invitational. This year we will see a battle between Lastra and Tsion Yared in their first 1600m head to head this season. Yared holds the state leading time in a 4:52 and Lastra has had some major sub-five minute wins under her belt this season.
This weekend we will see some of South Florida's top sprinters, distance, and field athletes go head to head on the University of Miami track.
