Arian Smith Races Wind-Legal 10.41 To Win Pre Classic 100m

Lakeland HS transfer, Arian Smith, raced a wind-legal 10.41 to win the Pre Classic high school 100m this weekend.

Smith has had nothing short of an outstanding junior year. The former Mulberry high school athlete, added a state title to his resume in the 200m earlier this season and just last week ran a new PR in the 100m of 10.30 to place third at the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships.

Fast forward to this weekend, Smith attended the Nike Elite Sprint Camp and competed, once again, against some of the best 100m sprinters in the nation. This time, Smith ran away with the win.

Following his 10.30 (1.6) 100m race at the U20 Championships, Smith has remained in the top five nationally, just ahead of fellow Floridian, Tyrese Cooper who raced a 10.32 at the Pepsi Florida Relays earlier this season.

In the fall, Smith is dominating out on the football field as a wide receiver -- his 10.30 100m PR and 21.01w 200m PR making his foot speed on the field all the more valuable.
