| Now we can see who's hot and who's not. The Fluehr twins are on fire running the some of the nation's best times at FLRunners. Emily Edwards has also made a big jump since last year making us wonder what's in the water in the SW. Lots of fast times at the very competitive .com meet has resulted in some major reshuffling of individual rankings. 1A now leads the US with the top 5K time, Kathryn Fluehr; the top 8th grader, Emily Edwards; and the top 7th grader, Julie Wollrath. CSN still claims the top team spot while PK Young had a strong race at Great American. | |||

| Wow- this poll was much more difficult than the first one, with so many schools turning in great performances the last 2 weeks. Several schools narrowly missed the cut- Lecanto, Viera, Oak Ridge, Charlotte, Harmony, Mitchell, Belleview, and Naples. They will have a chance to prove me wrong before the next poll. The rankings are not based on which team has the fastest average time. Course difficulty, weather, teams with missing runners are things that play a factor. There were fast courses- (flrunners and Zak Lukas) and slow courses (Ponta Vedra and North Port). Thank you to the coaches who are keeping me posted on things like this. Chiles is still the team to beat, but Lakewood Ranch is stating their case as an elite team as well. 3A-1 is the dominant Region as of now. There are some very good teams in that region that may not even make it out of districts. | Some though chose to stay with their team in other FL Runners races or competed at other meets. The team rankings were quite a challenge this week! | |||
| Many teams faced off head to head at FL Runners but some teams were weakened by their top runner(s) competing in another race. Two weeks of racing were considered in this week's rankings and | |||
| the ROC at FL Runners showed some emerging 2A teams. Teams 3 through 7 all have arguments for that number 3 spot. Great racing by the 2A teams and individuals, congrats boys. | |||
