Dunbar High School's group of cross country upperclassmen boys kicked off their championship season with the school's first ever cross country district title with their underdog 31 point win at the 3A District 13 meet this past week.
Ogler Bartolon led the Tigers with a second place finish to Port Charlotte's Tyler Wadsworth. It was Ivan Marin-Padilla who really stepped it up for the team, finishing fifth overall with his teammate Joshua Martinez just 10 seconds behind his new PR of 17:40. Marin-Padilla, has brought his cross country PR down week by week and his performance at the District Championship helped the team to bring home some hardware.
