Markevus Jackson US #2 47.23 400 On Home Track!

Osceola (Kissimmee) senior Markevus Jackson continues his stellar spring track season as on Saturday competing on his home track at the Kowboy Invitational ran the nation's second-fastest time and Florida's top time at 400 meters with a 47.23 personal best performance.

In the prelims earlier in the day, Jackson looked incredible comfortably shutting it down and still running under 49 seconds. Opting to focus only on the 400 on this day, his legs were fairly fresh for the finals later on where he attacked the track from the gun.

The finals field turned out to be deep seeing two others go under 49 seconds with Jackson in Tramari Smith (2nd, 48.67) of Ocoee and Donovan Horne (3rd, 48.80) from Apopka.

After running a wind-legal 20.99 in the 200-meter dash last month, Jackson is certainly establishing himself as one of Florida's most dominant performers in the sprints so far in the 2021 outdoor season.
