| Commentary: Most of the top schools attended Pre-State, and stated their case for making it back to the state meet in about a month. Cool weather and great course conditions led to fast times- especially for the Saturday races. Heavy emphasis was placed on head-to head matches for this set of rankings. Chiles won Pre-State Elite in a landslide, while Lake Region took second, and Baker 3rd in the Large School Race. While these teams shined on the biggest stage, several other schools competed at other meets such as Titusville Terrier, Esca-Rosa, and Holy Trinity. Again, there were several schools that just missed the cut (in no particular order) Mitchell, Harmony, Naples, Bartram Trail, Charlotte, King, Washington, Lemon Bay, George Jenkins, Belleview, and Springstead- teams that will probably make it to the state meet. | |||

| Commentary: Midway through the season we now have a better look at our top state qualifying teams with many of them racing head-to-head at Little Everglades this past weekend. There wasn't a large change on the team rankings but there were a few suprises with the individuals. Two more weeks until the Pre-District rankings! | |||
