The Viera boys were the fastest team on paper coming into the cross country season and turned out to be the fastest team as well when that paper was balled up and thrown in the trash can with the start of the 2021 cross country season winning the loaded elite race at the Ceil Field Summer Classic on Friday.
Putting nearly 3 under 16 minutes on the course with Michael Toppi (15:38), Cameron Raney (15:59), and Robbie Naberhaus (16:05) to go along with a remaining scoring top 5 under 17 minutes in Aedan Rendek (16:44) and Jack Girard (16:55) was enough to put them ahead of the two talented squads expected to battle for the 2A state title this fall in Satellite and Bolles.
