Meet Preview: FACA Senior All-Star Boys

Take a look below at the season-best 5K times of all the senior boys slated to run in Friday's FACA All-Star Classic to be held on Friday, November 19th at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Florida. Also can find below a projected raw team score for the All-Star teams organized for each region.

The West team coaches Ray Romero at Dunbar High and Randal Reeves at Sunlake High did some serious recruiting to create a superstar stacked lineup for their region's squad that could potentially perfect score the All-Star meet when including the likes of Colby Robbins from Sunlake, Tyler Wadsworth from Port Charlotte, Tristan McWilliam from Out of Door Academy, Colsen Palmer from Fort Myers, and Evan Meyer from Lehigh as the fastest 5 individuals entered in the meet and all with sub 16-minute 5K credentials.

McWilliam is actually coming off the highest state meet finish among the West squad with a third-place finish in the 1A race, while Wadsworth was 7th in the 2A race and Palmer was 7th as well in the 3A race.

Sunlake's Robbins is coming off a disappointing 16th place finish in the 3A race at the state meet, but had a stellar season including a handful of victories as well as a 15:41 performance at Holloway Park earlier this season at the flrunners.com Invite. Robbins, Wadsworth, and Palmer were all regional champions this past season.

Potentially one of the best runners not from the West Region to break up their group near the front should be Pensacola Christian Academy senior J.T. Tutton, who placed 7th last Friday in the 1A state race and has a 5K PR just over 16 minutes at 16:02.

Tutton along with West Port's Eduardo Diaz (15:58 PR) and Bartram Trail's Nolan Hemmen (16:05 PR) will be looking to lead a short-handed North Region squad with currently only 5 runners slated to run and will need all 5 to finish in order to score.

Both South and East Region teams have full squads including a pack of seniors in the 16-minute range. Could one of those seniors go out breaking 16 minutes for the first time on Friday?

Preview and projections based on the current list of athletes selected and accepted here, which is subject to change.

We will be on-site with race video, photo, and interview coverage!
