Penelope Sosa, a senior at Miami Coral Park, closed strong to end her cross country season winning the 4A state title in 18:12 to follow her outdoor 3200 state title last spring. She dropped another 25 seconds with an additional month of training at the RunningLane Champs finishing 3rd in the silver division race with a new PR of 17:47. It was only her sixth race of the season after missing the first month of the season's races and training due to the coronavirus.
