Tasty Race: Micayah Holland Breaks CrossPlex Facility Record

Micayah Holland, a junior at Montverde Academy, broke the Birmingham CrossPlex facility record for the high school girls' 60-meter dash on Sunday at the Coach Miami presents The Bama Showcase.

In the finals of the event, Holland scorched a time of 7.35 down the straightaway to break the former facility record previously held by former Florida high school star and current adidas professional athlete Tamari Davis in a 7.36 clocking in a 2018 meet at the indoor venue in Birmingham, Alabama.

Holland was not finished for the day as she later doubled back to win a loaded fast section of the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.81.

Also a basketball player at Montverde Academy, Holland came to Florida this year from Virginia where she was a state champion sprinter at Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach including personal bests of 11.92 in the 100-meter dash and 6.95 in the 55-meter dash.

She will be heading back to Virginia Beach this upcoming weekend to compete at the East Coast Invitational, which will be live streamed on MileSplit.com
