2022 FHSAA State Track Finals Schedule Released

The 2022 FHSAA Track & Field State Meet schedule has been released as this year's event will be contested over 4 days from May 11th to May 14th at the University of Florida's Percy Beard Track in Gainesville. After covid restrictions and obstacles forced the meet to make several changes to the schedule over the last two years, this year's state finals in track & field will see each classification get their own dedicated evening of competition.

The 1A competition will kick things off on Wednesday, May 11th followed by 2A & unified competition on Thursday, May 12th followed by 3A competition on Friday, May 13th and the 4A competition will compete the championship week on Saturday, May 14th. 

Field events will start each day at 1 PM with the girls pole vault, both long jumps, boys high jump, boys shot put, and girls javelin going first. 

The first running event will be the 4x800 meter relay each day at 3:00 PM and then a nearly 3 hour break on the track after each heat for each gender is run for the relay race before the resumption of track action at 6:30 PM with the 100 meter hurdles for the girls.

The format will remain with finals only and no preliminary rounds for running events including the sprints and hurdles.

Distance runners will appreciate running their races later in the event with cooler temperatures after the sun sets including a late 8:25 PM start of the longest race on the track in the 3200 meter run.

Barring no delays including weather, team awards are projected to be presented at meet's end for each classification at 9:25 PM.
