WATCH: Kolton Pickard Run State Best 4:16 At Edison Relays

Edison Relays: Results - Race Videos

Estero senior Kolton Pickard ran the state's fastest 1600 meter time for the 2022 outdoor season at the Edison Relays hosted by Fort Myers High School on Friday evening clocking a 4:16.87 personal best. Pickard's previous personal best came at last year's Edison Relays when he won in a time of 4:18.66.

It would not be the last victory or fast new personal best on the evening for Pickard. He doubled back later to impressively win the 800 meter run wire to wire as well in the fifth fastest time in the state of Florida this spring at 1:55.26.

Both races were won decisively by Pickard as finishing runner-up to him in both races was Ida Baker senior Jacob Fritz turning in times of 4:24 for the 1600 and 1:59 for 800 meter run.

Pickard has never won a state title in his high school career, but in his current form certainly has to be in the discussion to race for a championship in May for the 3A classification.
