Holy Trinity Academy sophomore Evelyn VanZweiten came in as a strong favorite to win the 1A girls discus competition as she has flirted with throwing over 40 meters this season and came close once again with a winning toss of 39.55 meters and just off her 39.65 personal best. The mark converts to 129'9" and was over 10 feet better than her next closest competitor in Bradenton Christian senior Silia Matelau (2nd, 118'9").
