FHSAA 1A State Meet Girls Recap

FHSAA 1A Girls 300m Hurdles
Camila Garanton (Carrollwood Day School) 44.88

After going undefeated in all of her 300 meter hurdles last spring and heading into the state meet as the top seed and favorite, but narrowly losing the state title and settling as a runner-up in the 2021 outdoor season, Carrollwood Day School senior Camila Garanton was not going to settle for anything less than first at the state meet.

A quick starter, Garanton got out on the field in the fast section and did not let them come back on her this time to go out as state champion her last try with a 44.88 season best winning performance.

A ninth grader at Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Kahalia Hoo would close well to overtake First Baptist Academy senior Hannah Casey who was best staying up with Garanton thru the first 200 meters of the race and others for runner-up honors in a PR time of 45.67 after winning the 1A Region 4 title the week prior.
