Florida is loaded with elite talent in both its public schools and private schools across the state. However, 7 of the 10 girls who have broken 18 minutes for 5K this season come from private schools including Cardinal Mooney's Addison Dempsey with her 17:29 best.
If Florida ever separated public and private schools from one another for separate state meets, below are hypothetical meets if there were such events filtering out the schools from one another. Obviously there would be several classifications or divisions based on school size and enrollment if there was a public school and a private school state meet, so lists below are a grouping of schools from all sizes in the silos of public schools and private schools designations.
Note: Lists don't include schools categorized by FHSAA as either charter, virtual, or university lab schools. Will figure out way to combine school categories soon.
