Vivian Stovall Clears FL #2 All-Time 12-9 Pole Vault

Vivian Stovall, a senior at the Bolles School competing for the Jacksonville Athletic Club, cleared a height of 12 feet and 9 inches on Saturday at the JDL Fast Track Indoor Facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to win the competition at the COROS Invitational.

The performance easily overwrote her prior personal best clearance of 12'1.75" from last January's Florida Indoor Pole Vault Championship meet. She had an outdoor best from last spring of 11'9.75", but already bettered that last weekend clearing 12'1.75" at the JAC Indoor/Outdoor Opener held outdoors.

Stovall's 12'9" clearance also ranks #2 all-time in Florida high school history for the girls indoor pole vault behind only Nicole Carroll of Tampa Catholic at 13'1.50" holding the state record from the 2015 Millrose Games. With more opportunities to compete indoors in the state of Florida with the opening of the facility in Gainesville next month, Stovall might have a few more opportunities this year to go after the state indoor record.

Bolles teammates Presley Wolfe (2nd, 11'6") and Kiley Wenger (4th, 10'6") also competed well in North Carolina taking 3 of the top 4 places in the pole vault competition.
